Dating Online

There are hundreds, possibly thousands of dating websites out there. Anyone with a bit of web design knowledge can set one up, but how can be sure that it's worth the investment when you are joining one?

SingleGirlAboutTown.com have reviewed most of the big sites (and we're still working through the others!) and here's a brief guide.

The big three are Match.com, Yahoo Personals and DatingDirect.com. Of those my personal favourite would have to DatingDirect.com, but please read through our in depth reviews and make up your own mind.

Loopy Love is the only totally free dating website, so ideal if you fancy a dabble and don't want to pay just yet.

Just Fate is realtively new to this site. It's known outside the UK as 'Just Date' and has loads of nifty features!

Both Urban Social & Connect To Cupid offer more than just online dating. The former is our current pick of the month, we love the fact that it's targetted exclusively at young urban professionals and thoroughly recommend it.

Date The UK and BlindDater are smaller companies, but offer just as many features as all the others.

SpeedDater Online was launched last year by the UK's biggest speed dating event organiser, it's free to join and run by one of the most successful speed dating companies in the country. For what it's worth my best friend met the guy she's now living with through it!
