What is it?

One of the largest operators in the UK an ever expanding speed dating company running events in Bath, Birmingham, Bournemouth, Edinburgh, Exeter, Glasgow, London, Manchester, Newcastle, Nottingham, Oxford, Plymouth, Portsmouth, Southampton and Swindon

How does it work?

You can book online or by phoning the office. Once registered you'll recieve an email a few days before the event to remind you of details of the night.

When I arrived at the venue (I went to the Fruit bar in Southampton) I was given my 'speeding ticket' which is a cleverly named scorecard and I was directed to the table which matched my badge number.

Slow Dating offers a minimum of 15 dates each of which are 4 minutes long, that vital extra minute has been added after research by the company found 3 minutes was just too short.

There are breaks during the evening and men move round.

After the event there's a straight forward process of logging onto the website and entering your ticks. You can see any avaliable matches straight away.

Who does it attract?

The usual diverse crowd of singletons!

What's different about it?

When you book onto an event that is nearly sold out you are actually able to view how many tickets remain left unsold. Events are listed with details beneath showing for instance 'women : 2 places remaining. Men : 3 places remaining'. Speed dating companies are often cagey about the exact number of tickets sold for an event and I was really pleased to see this honest approach, I felt confident that I would be attending an event that was well subscribed.

I love the live help facility on the website, which really does offer you friendly and extremely helpful advice on a real time chat facility. No more phoning a company or waiting for replies to emails, if you've got a question you can get it answered straight away!
